The Criminal Justice Policy site is an open forum for students, faculty, and the general public to discuss and debate various crime control strategies. Each academic quarter Criminology and Criminal Justice Online (CCJO) students in the UNST421 Senior Capstone are assigned several crime problems to research and discuss, using a “what works” model of criminology. A new topic will be discussed each week.
Students will work in small groups to identify evidence-based policy/prevention strategies which could be applied to the crime problem, then summarize the strategies in the Discourse Community Forum (DCF). Fellow students and the online community will participate in the commentary/debate, while students who posted the research articles will respond and maintain the DCF.
